On July 15, 2005- His Majesty King Gyanendra has, in accordance with the Constitution of the Kingdom of Nepal - 1990 Article 127, reshuffled the cabinet that was formed on February 1, 2005, under his chairmanship.

On July 5, 2004 (Ashadh 21, 2061 BS), Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba expanded his cabinet and gave it a full shape.
His cabinet consist thirty-one ministers, twelve members are from his own party Nepali Congress Democratic NC( D), Eleven from Communist Party of Nepal-Unified Marxist Leninist CPN-UML, five  from Rastriya Prajantantra Party RPP, One  from Nepal Sadbavana Party, two of them are king's nominees.

Mr. Surya Bahadur Thapa was appointed Prime Minister by King Gyanendra to succeed Lokendra Bahadur Chand who resigned from his designation. The King nominated Thapa after seven political parties failed to recommend a consensus candidate five days after a collective meeting with the King who said he would endorse their common choice. Mr . Surya Bahadur Thapa was the President of the then Rastriya Prajatantra Party as well as the leader of it's Parlimentry Committee.

Mr.Lokendra Bahadur Chand was appointed as Prime Minister of an interim administration as king Gyanendra sacked the government after the the former Prime Minister, Sher Bahadur Deuba, asked for November's parliamentary elections to be postponed. Mr.Chand has served three times as prime minister in the 1980s and 1990s.After the king gave up absolute power in 1990, he floated the Rashtriya Prajatantra Party.

Mr. Sher Bahadur Deuba was appointed Prime Minister for the second time after Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala resigned. He secured 72 votes while his rival,Nepali Congress general secretary,Sushil Koirala got 40 votes.

Mr. Girija Prasad Koirala was appointed Prime Minister for the fourth time after Prime Minister Krishna Prasad Bhattrai resigned due to Nepali Congress parliamentarians expressing no-confidence motion against him. The first ever election for the post of Parliamentry Committee leader took place in the history of the Nepali Congress.

Mr. Krishna Prasad Bhattrai was appointed Prime Minister for the second time to lead the majority goverment of the Nepali Congress as a result of the party securing majority seats in the 2056 elections. He was the leader of the then Parliamentry Committee of the Nepali Congress.

Mr. Girija Prasad Koirala was appointed Prime Minister for the third time after having resigned from the post of Prime Minister of the minority government to lead the coalition government of Nepali Congress and the Nepal Communist Party (UML).

Mr. Girija Prasad Koirala was appointed Prime Minister for the second time as the leader of the Parliamentry Committee of Nepali Congress, the party with the largest seats in the Parliament, after Surya Bahadur Thapa resigned from the post of Prime Minister. The break up of the Communist Party of Nepal (United Marxist Lenninst) in Falgun 21, 2054 BS. (March 5, 1998) left the Nepali Congress as the largest party in the lower house. The break away fraction of Nepal Communist Party (Marxist Lenninist) was also invited to join the government of Nepali Congress and Communist Party of Nepal (United Marxist Lenninist).

He was the President of the then Rastriya Prajatantra Party (Thapa) as well as the leader of it's Parlimentry Committee.

Mr. Chand was the leader of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (Chand) as well as the leader of it's Parliamentary Committee.

Mr. Deuba was the leader of the then Parliamentry Committee of the Nepali Congress.
